Project 2 – Mulin Tang

Our project 2 requires a household object with a decoration of Celtic knot. And we were asked to calculate the crossing / linking number of the knot.

While surfing the Internet, Sasha Kopf’s Celtic knot ring caught my eyes. It’s a celtic knot with crossing number of 54.

Since it’s an celtic knot with elegant design, I thought it might be good to design a (cup)cake holder with this celtic knot on top.And the last time I ate a cupcake was on my cousin’s wedding. I remembered the flowers held in her hands. I thought, maybe I can put these two elements together and create a (cup)cake holder.
